Apple has confirmed the 24 hours following the opening of pre-orders for the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus saw over four million reserve their new handset, setting a record for the most day one pre-orders in the company's history.
While the figure is undoubtedly good news for the company, it's less so for consumers though, as it exceeds the number set aside for initial pre-orders. As a result, while some new phone owners can still expect their phones to arrive from Friday and throughout September, the company has openly warned some pre-orders won't be fulfilled before October. Hardly surprising considering volume of demand crashed the company's website recently.
