Cardboard, wood, clay and the fifth episode of The Dream Machine

It has been over a year since the last installment in the brilliant and stunningly hand-crafted The Dream Machine adventure series was released, but waiting for chapter 5 has been absolutely worth it. This is the best and biggest Dream Machine entry so far and is probably heftier than all the previous ones combined.

As the lucky people who have already played the first chapters of the series already know, The Dream Machine is a disturbingly surreal point-and-click adventure about voyeurism, normal people in extraordinary circumstances and their far out if not dangerous dreams. It is also one of the most unique and beautiful games ever created.

Everything you see in The Dream Machine, characters, backgrounds, props, environments, has been painstakingly hand-crafted and then edited and inserted into the game. Like this.

What's more, the story of Victor and Alicia, the game's protagonists, is an excellent and absolutely engrossing one. Also, one that's framed by a selection of clever and superbly implemented puzzles that manage to actually enhance the game's incredible atmosphere by fitting perfectly in and teasing the average brain in the most pleasurable way imaginable.

Playing through The Dream Machine is a joy. Pure and simple as that and this fifth chapter of the saga is the best yet!
