How Legacy of the Void is Changing StarCraft II

Blizzard unveiled StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void at last week’s Blizzcon, revealing that it will be a standalone game. It won’t require a copy of StarCraft II to play, in other words. It will, however, conclude the epic story that started with Wings of Liberty back in 2010, and which IGN’s own Mitch Dyer recently compared to Battlestar Galactica.


Fans of the series will also be pleased that Blizzard is making a raft of changes, both small and large. Everything from attempts to better differentiate high level player skill through to new units and two new co-op modes. We ran through some of the most significant changes with Legacy of the Void's Technical Designer Aron Kirkpatrick.
